A nice spring day in June of 2011, my neighbor was having a stoop sale, and had two of these. I went on a run and thought about it, and I figured I could use it a couple of times and sell it for twice what I paid for it.

Its main voyage has been to carry a ton of crap from my basement to the metal shop space where I work on bikes. One more round-trip and I should be all cleared out down there - this thing will haul a LOT of crap in the big basket between the rear wheels.

It's got a Shimano Nexus 3-speed hub, set up for very easy pedaling, and a front hand brake.

If you've never ridden a tricycle as an adult, they ride very strangely. If you are expecting bicycle-like steering, they are nothing like that. There's no leaning, obviously, and it feels like you have to push harder on the bars, and that the trike then dumbly goes where the front wheel is pointed. After a bit of getting used to, however, it's a lot of fun. I was grinning like a fool after riding around for a bit. Doesn't look nearly as goofy as I had feared, either. I would not want to ride very far on a tricycle, though, or at least not this one. It is slow and heavy, a bit small for me, and the saddle looks like it should be on a tractor.

Sold via Craigslist, later in June of the same year.
