I bought this bicycle on eBay in 2006 or so. It was a large frame - maybe a 58 or 60mm seat tube and with a sloping top tube. I remember I felt just slightly uneasy straddling it. Someone had set it up with mid-range but functional components, as a single speed. WTB wheels, On-one Mary bars, which I really liked.
This is one I kind of wish I didn't sell. It was really light and a lot of fun to ride, but I got rid of it because I don't mountain bike, and the frame and parts were just a little too nice to leave locked outside comfortably.
I would love to ride trails more, but there's only one good mountain bike trail anywhere near here, and it's 12 miles away. I think it's about a three-mile loop once you get to the trail, too, and the ride there is not nice - it goes through a lot of southern Queens - the land of the kamikaze minivan.
I'd got it for a really good price, like around $400. I seem to remember bidding on it during some downtime when I was working at Yahoo[!], not expecting to win. I think I got about what I paid for it when I sold it again. I wanted to ship it to my friend Rene in Vienna, but the shipping costs, because of the size of the box, would have been something ridiculous.
I'd love to have another titanium bike some day. This one was so light, so springy!
Marin Titanium in the city there's no dirt around here.
